LRG Brief Two Research: What is Non-Linear?

The General definition of Non-Linear is:

“Not arranged in a straight line”.

However, “Non-Linear”  has other definitions, according to its perspective.

Mathematics: “Designating or involving an equation whose terms are not of the first degree”.

Mathematics: “Involving measurement in more than one dimension”.

Physics: “Involving a lack of linearity between two related qualities such as input and output”.

It can also mean…

“Not sequential or straightforward”.

and…

“Of or denoting digital editing whereby a sequence of edits is stored on computer as opposed to videotape”.

My initial thought to what “Non-Linear” is, was somewhat right.  However, I had no idea it had so many definitions from different perspectives.  I now need to think about the approach I am going to take, whether it is from a more general perspective, specific, or something that can incorporate all definitions (which would be difficult).
